It haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaappens, okay? What can I say, you guys are not only my test audience, but my TARGET audience. It's not that I don't have anyone else to talk to, I just choose you guys because you're awesome.

So... the meeting with my editor a couple weeks ago went well. But I think it broke me. lol. Not in that "sad, tragic, oh-my-god-I-can't-write-anymore" way. But she taught me a LOT, and I'm SO excited about how much better of a writer I can be, that I've been obsessing over everything she's taught me!

The problem? When I read my stuff now, I see sentence structure and mechanics (the things she worked with me the most), not context. And the context is the most thrilling part, that's what's supposed to keep me going! So.. I'm struggling for a little bit. Here's my solution:

1) I need to start sharing some of my work again. I've been hiding a lot of my work lately because I want to protect it. But... the readers are the reason anybody should love to write. I need to connect with that again. You guys are who tells me about the context and what works and what doesn't, and I need to reconnect with that! So.. I might be sharing my new sci-fi book (not of the Lankora's Legacy Series) here, for free. Synopsis and Teaser to follow (relatively) soon.

2) I've been thinking that good practice for me to condition myself new way of thinking when I write (maybe if I get used to it, I can get back to writing fluidly, and not getting caught up every other sentence on mistake), would be for me to go back into my old fanfics, particularly those most favorited, and reeeeally dig into them and revise them again. They deserve it, it's been a few years. lol. That and.. like I said, I need the practice.

Might be a good idea to update some of those hideous GIMP paintings from years ago too.. o.o lol.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, let me know what you think, and I really hope you'll look into the book I'll be sharing here, entitled after the main character "Bishop" until I come up with a better working title.

I'm working at Applebee's, minding my own business after pulling a double on prom night, dead on my feet, when my last table of the night cheers me right up.

A four-top, this family reminded me of everything I loved about my family back home. They were playful, friendly, sarcastic, and maybe even a little eccentric.

After noticing I have some of my concept art for my novels covering my Server Book, the woman of the table asked to see it, and I explained to her the pictures depicted characters from a novel series (Lankora's Legacy) that I've been working on.

She then began to ask me a series of questions most do not bother asking when they learn of my writing: What's the theme, if you had to sum it up in one sentence? Is it plot driven, or character driven? Action or Drama? Can you tell me a little bit more about it?

After about ten minutes, I was thrilled someone was truly interested, but it must have shown on my face my confusion, because she then explained, "the reason I'm asking you all this, is that I'm an editor."

Yeah... that "Wow!" look came over my face too. That was the thing I was least expecting, and what are the odds? Or even that she'd care? She then asked for me to email her my first chapter, and since then has replied asking how brutal I want her to be.

Of COURSE, I said as brutal as possible (okay, let's be honest, we know that's going to hurt). But I want to grow! And not only is this first time I know a real editor is looking at this, but that makes her opinion INVALUABLE. The story did actually also intrigue her,and she does want to read more, so... with any luck, it sounds like she's going to be "my editor".. lol. I've been waiting SO LONG to say those two words. After a new revised copy is finished (which will take a few months. I've asked her to be thorough, and I'm sure this will spark a LOT of revisions), she'll know how to get it published.

It's still fragile and early.. but progress is being made. And hopefully this time next year... I'll have a book in the process of being published, or already so.

(By the way, even aside from that... I love my job. lol. New Mexico agrees with me.)

Hey all! I haven't been talkative, but most of it has to do with the move. I've been trying to get a job, a car, get another book out, but I'm FINALLY getting into the swing of things and am finally in a good position to start a new project (and reinstate my Premium Membership).

Aside from writing, of course. lol.

Anyway, I'm doing some market research by asking you guys, and please, by all means, ask your friends too!

I may have found a gap in the jewelry market, and being someone who loves this concept, I'm hoping others will, too. Like many people, I have two holes in each ear lobe, for earrings.

Traditionally, of course, the obvious solution is to wear two sets of earrings at once. But I'm so OCD, and coordinating is one thing-- but I often find I feel that unless you especially buy earring sets meant to be worn together, they never feel special enough to warrant the excitement I first had when getting my second piercing.

Then, on Amazon.com, I found ONE set of earrings I fell in love with: The "double-post". They are two post earrings, connected by a chain, giving the advantage of two holes in each ear a whole new and unique look.

But I only found this one set! And it's not just me, but there is a very limited amount of double-post earrings even for lobe-cartilage double-pierced women.

I've been looking all over, and selection of "Double-Post" earrings are so limited. So I started thinking.. is there a market for this?

I'd love to design and create unique, cute, elegant, or even punk-style new earring sets with people with more than one hole in each lobe! I know I can't be the only one!

So... what do you think? Is this a product that yourself, or maybe your friends might be interested in? It brings a whole new use and style to having multiple ear piercings. And if not yourself, do you think others might be interested in this type of product?
